KINKI 2021 is the third vintage of this wine which comes from a very old single vineyard of Mencía and some others locals varieties ( around 15%, mostly Palomino, Godello and Doña Blanca). Located in Cobrana, a small town in the high Bierzo. This place, with 750m of altitude has a quite interesting soil, a very degraded blue slate with red clay, being one of the latest ripening and cooler areas in Bierzo , with a fresher and fluid profile.
3620 bottles in this vintage made with 100% whole clusters in an open wooden tank of 5000L, we make a kind of local winemaking style, mixing white and red grapes with a long and very soft maceration.
In Kinki we go to very light ripening, very low levels of alcohol and extraction, aged in 800L amphoras, keeping the freshy fruit and light profile of this wine.
It is a wine of a very light structure but of a precise balance, electric and clear mouth, very light in color and intense nose of red fruit, currants, sour strawberry and raspberry, with a balsamic and even medicinal background, which makes it fresh and elegant, very subtle and vibrant at the same time.
