MARTIVILLÍ
Where tradition meets progress, crafting the true essence of Rueda in every bottle.
With deep roots in family heritage and a passion for modern winemaking, Martivillí honors the Verdejo grape and the unique terroir of Rueda, creating wines that are authentic, fresh, and full of character.

Nestled in the heart of the Rueda Appellation of Origin, Martivillí Winery is a testament to the region’s deep-rooted winemaking tradition and innovation. Founded in 1988, the winery stands on the pillars of family heritage and local craftsmanship, embracing modern techniques while honoring the essence of the land.
Long before the winery took its name, the family’s connection to wine ran deep. For generations, their grandparents and great-grandparents tended vineyards and crafted wines in underground cellars, preserving the winemaking heritage of the historic Tierra de Medina. Their passion and dedication set the foundation for what Martivillí is today—a winery that blends the wisdom of the past with the precision of modern enology.
A Terroir Defined by Tradition
Martivillí is located in Pozaldez, Valladolid, in the heart of Rueda, the first Appellation of Origin for white wines in Spain. The Verdejo grape, native to this region, has been cultivated for centuries, shaped by Rueda’s continental climate and gravelly soils. These conditions, along with stony, calcium- and magnesium-rich land, create the perfect environment for wines with freshness, minerality, and balance.
Philosophy & Approach
At Martivillí, winemaking is an art passed down through generations. The evolution from their ancestors’ underground cellars to today’s modern facilities has brought new opportunities without losing sight of tradition. Their philosophy? Simple:
-Select only the best grapes from their winery-owned vineyards.
-Respect nature’s rhythm, ensuring that each harvest reflects the character of its terroir.
-Combine tradition with innovation, using cutting-edge techniques while maintaining the soul of Rueda’s winemaking legacy.
A Commitment to Craftsmanship
From their 45 hectares of vineyards, Martivillí cultivates Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viura, with Verdejo making up 85% of their production. The grapes are harvested at night, taking advantage of low temperatures to prevent oxidation and preserve their freshness. This careful attention to detail ensures that each bottle expresses the essence of Rueda, delivering wines that are crisp, elegant, and full of character.
