Red
Bierzo D.O.

100% Mencía
2023 Vintage

Quite is Veronica Ortega’s entry-level wine, first released in 2014. It comes from several old-vine plots in Valtuille de Abajo, planted with Mencía (95%) and a small percentage of other local varieties. The vines are around 90–100 years old, rooted in clay-sandy soils with pebbles (quartzite, slate, etc.) characteristic of the Bierzo valley.

For the first time in this vintage, Quite was aged for two winters: 10 months in large French oak vats (6,000–2,500 L), followed by 6 months in 500 L barrels. This approach gives the wine a smoother texture and added depth.

The idea behind Quite is to highlight the minerality and fruit expression from clay soils, while preserving the gentle, cheerful character of Mencía. The result is an approachable wine, full of fruit, fresh and lively. It offers a seductive nose of red fruits and blue flowers, with a hint of licorice, and a light, slender texture on the palate.

Ultimately, Quite is a wine for any occasion – easy to understand and easy to enjoy.
